Can we as a mass number say we out live our means, we out live our own wants and dreams and above all, out live our own needs. We think we have this “bag of chips” why not eat the whole thing, can buy more tomorrow and the next day until we don’t need those “chips” anymore, then throw away what we don’t use and never think back and wonder where those “chips” are that we never finished and just threw away. This simple line can be put to use with so much around us, clothes, food, machines and the very earth between our toes. And I wonder have we out lived our own needs?

My answer is yes in everything we do and in everything we have done. We have forgotten the simple rule of thumb, “Waste not, want not.” I have heard this so many times, yet in my own simple world I waste food, I waste clothes and I find ways to waste things I never knew was there, like time. We all do this, and it is time we find ways not to.

Like deciding to only buy two instead of four knowning full well you will never be able to eat all of those and one or two will go to waste, you think it is such a good price though. But I ask is it saving anything, if  you do not eat it then the money you have saved is gone and so is the food you saved it on. Maybe just maybe, you should have taken the 2, saved a little, but wasted nothing in turn. I use food as an ex,ample because it is surprising that it is the number one thing in this world we waste the most of. I think that is irony, for it is the very thing millions lack, to stive to another day. If you want to buy the four, to save the extra , then donate them to someone who has none, you save the money and in turn waste nothing, and save someone else. Food is a source in our world  that we are lower on then most think, so strive in each day to save a little, and to bring a little to those who have not.

I can use that example and spread it to so much, like the cars we drive that pollute this world, so drive in the carpool lane. That lane in so many cities seem to be the road less traveled and we as a mass would do so much better if it was traveled. I’m not saying gas is anywheres in short supply, but what I’m saying is we live beyond our own needs. Can taking the time to share even our own vehicle be too much of a hassle for some.

I can also say, that in time, if we continue to out live our own simple basic needs, our world will be nothing but a heap of unwanted, useless stuff that at one time was something, someone ,somewheres, just had to have. I really think now is the time to live with in our needs and to live to help others when we can. I can truly say I do not want to ever have to say our world is 1/2 or more a dump.

A message that is needed now more then ever.
